Tip The 15km stretch from Aewol to Gwakji Beach is best driven or cycled at golden hour — the road hugs the sea with zero guardrails between you and the water. Café Monsant perches at the best cliffside point.

The world's largest nutmeg-yew forest. Twisted 800-year-old trees, mossy paths, and total silence. Forty minutes you will not stop talking about.
Tip The 2,800 bijarim (nutmeg-yew) trees are the world's largest such grove — some are over 800 years old. The main path takes 40 min. Visit right at 9 AM opening for fog filtering through ancient canopy, a completely otherworldly quiet.

Seogwipo-si
Three-tiered waterfall in a narrow basalt gorge. A mythological figure is said to bathe here. The arching bridge above makes the postcard shot of Jeju's south coast.
Tip Three cascading tiers — the upper pool is particularly beautiful at midday when light filters through the narrow gorge walls. The Seonimgyo Bridge arching over the falls is the best photo spot.

The dramatic north face of Hallasan — lava rock gullies, ancient cypress forests, and a 1,950m volcanic summit above clouds. Do this together and you'll feel invincible.
Tip The steepest route up Hallasan — 8.7km one way to the crater. Don't attempt the crater peak without checking the summit permit system (수시 통제 — access limited). Even the mid-point Tamna Valley shelter offers staggering views for a 2hr hike.

Korea's highest mountain. The Yeongsil route passes through volcanic rock pillars and ancient cloud forest. Reaching the crater rim together is the definitive Jeju date.
Tip The Yeongsil Trail (영실코스 — 5.8km round trip) is the most beautiful route and far less crowded than Seongpanak. Bizarre volcanic rock pillars (Yeongsilgiam) emerge from mist like sculpture. Start by 6 AM.

Iho-dong
Two horse-shaped lighthouses lit at sunset, a quiet beach, and the western sky turning color. Jeju's most romantic free beach, overlooked by most tourists.
Tip The two red-and-white horse-shaped lighthouses (말등대) are the Instagram symbol of Jeju. Come at sunset when they glow orange — the reflection in the wet sand doubles the shot. The beach is quieter than Hyeopjae and far less touristy.

Gujwa-eup
A UNESCO lava tube cave 7.4km long. Walk hand-in-hand through a tunnel formed by volcanic lava 300,000 years ago. The 7.6m lava pillar at the end stops conversations mid-sentence.
Tip Only the first 1km of the 7.4km tube is open to visitors — but that 1km contains the world's largest lava column (7.6 meters high). The temperature inside is always 11°C — bring a jacket even in August.

Korea's southernmost island. 87 residents, 4.3km perimeter path, one lighthouse, and the country's most famous jjajangmyeon. Forty minutes by ferry from the mainland.
Tip Marado is Korea's southernmost point — a tiny island of 87 people famous for jjajangmyeon. Walk the 4.3km perimeter path together in under 2 hours. The lighthouse at the southern tip is the mandatory stop.

Pyoseon-myeon
Jeju's hidden volcanic cone. A 20-minute climb delivers summit views that Seongsan charges ₩5,000 for. Almost nobody goes here. That's the whole point.
Tip This hidden oreum (volcanic parasitic cone) has no tourist crowds, no entrance fee, and a 360° summit view that rivals Seongsan Ilchulbong. The 20-minute climb is steep but short. Sunrise is spectacular.

Jeju's widest beach, which transforms at low tide into a vast shallow-water plain. Walk across together at sunrise in knee-deep water. Completely free, almost completely unknown to tourists.

The iconic tuff cone rising from the sea. Climb 180m in 30 minutes to watch sunrise from the crater rim. The sun emerges from the ocean and lights the volcanic bowl from within. Korea's most beautiful sunrise.
Tip The 180m climb takes 30 minutes and is steep but paved. Arrive 45 minutes before sunrise to secure a spot at the crater rim — the sun rises directly over the sea, lighting the bowl of the extinct volcano from below. Worth every step.

Udo-myeon
A peanut-shaped island 15 minutes by ferry. Circumnavigate by e-bike, stopping at white sand beaches and black lava cliffs. The most complete day-trip date on Jeju.
Tip Udo is a peanut-shaped island 3.5km off Seongsan. Rent electric bikes at the port and circumnavigate the 17km coastal road in 2–3 hours. Stop at the white sand beach (서빈백사) and the black lava cliffs (검멀레).

A parasitic cone crater carpeted in silver grass that turns gold-vermilion in autumn. Walk the rim together above a protected wetland crater floor. One of Jeju's most photographed landscapes.
