Tip The Handam beach branch has outdoor seating on the volcanic rock directly above the tide pools — order two drinks and stay two hours. The flat rock slabs are designed for this.

Tip The 3km walking trail through Gotjawal forest passes 50+ traditional stone grandfather statues (하륭뱅) in their natural setting — more powerful than the tourist-trap versions in Jeju City. Almost nobody visits on weekdays.

A string of architect-designed cafés on Aewol's black lava coast. The best of Jeju's café culture — design-forward, ocean-adjacent, unhurried.
Tip Café Fromager is the standout — orange-painted concrete cube directly above the black lava coast, outdoor terrace with no railing between you and the sea. One of Jeju's great café experiences.

Sit in a tangerine orchard and drink tangerine ade among the trees. Pick-your-own fruit in season. The most Jeju-specific café experience on the island.
Tip Jeju's tangerine farms have opened their orchards as cafés — sit among the trees and pick your own. The best ones are in Andeok-myeon, near the Oreum trails. Visit November–January for peak harvest.

Jeju-si

Tip Several Jeju temples offer overnight stays (템플스테이) including meditation, tea ceremony, and vegetarian meals. Beophwasa and Yakcheonsa are the most established. Book in advance — limited rooms, maximum tranquility.
